Job Responsibilities- Weatherization and Housing Specialist I - Rate of pay $25.32/hour
The successful candidate in this position will perform weatherization energy inspections on customers' homes, which include a variety of tests to determine what energy savings measures would be needed for the home, including tests to assess indoor air quality, furnace efficiency, presence of carbon monoxide, air tightness on all windows and doors, etc. The candidate in this position will ensure all inspections are performed and documented timely. The Weatherization and Housing Specialist I is responsible for considerable contact with agency customers and subcontractors.
*KCCA will provide paid training to assist with State Certifications for the Weatherization and Housing Specialist I position.
Job Responsibilities- Weatherization and Housing Specialist II - Rate of pay $26.66/hourThe successful candidate will develop specifications and cost estimations for assigned projects, and inspect owner-occupied dwellings, rental units, and new construction. They will serve as the owners' representative for assigned projects. This is a physical position that will perform on-site inspections, weatherization /energy audits and will be responsible for the duties listed for the Weatherization Specialist I position listed above.
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications- Weatherization and Housing Specialist I
High school diploma or GED combined with additional specialized training in residential construction.
Additional certifications required by the State of Michigan and the Department of Energy will be required during the probationary period. State Energy Auditor Certification will be required to be obtained within 6 months of the date of hire. The Building Performance Institute (BPI) Energy Auditor Certification and Quality Control Inspector certifications will be required to be obtained within 18 months from the date of receiving the State Energy Auditor Certification. Failure to obtain the required certifications within the allotted time frame may result in termination of employment.
Must possess a valid, unrestricted Michigan Motor Vehicle Driver’s License.
Must be able to lift 50 Lbs.
Minimum Qualifications- Weatherization and Housing Specialist IIHigh School Diploma or GED combined with additional specialized training in residential construction.
State Energy Auditor Certification, Building Performance Institute (BPI) Energy Auditor Certification, and Quality Control Inspector certifications are required.
Must possess a valid, unrestricted Michigan Motor Vehicle Driver’s License
Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
